Foo - Even too hot for the rattlers today

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I rode 52 miles in 100F heat, including climbing up 2 7 percent grades at the midpoint. NOT smart. I think I rode the last 15 miles in the early stages of heat stroke - rapid breathing and heartbeat, but I made it home. I'm OK, it was just a little scary (and stupid on my part). I won't start a ride any later than 8:00 in the morning if its going to be 100 like it was (I started riding at almost 11:00).

On the plus side, just broke 2,000 miles cycling for the year :)

Man, the water at Folsom Lake is LOW!

I realize the thread would have been MORE interesting had I posted pictures...

Picture of the water at Folsom Lake and how low it is... me about dead, and one of the 7 percent grade signs... interestingly enough posted on the DOWNHILL part of the trail, and not the uphill. Sadists.

I went to Chicago Fire Pizza with the GF Friday night and drank 128 oz of fluid - two glasses of iced tea (unsweet) and two glasses of water. And I barely peed afterward.
