Bicycle Mechanics - High Pressure Floor Pump

Any recommendations on a high pressure floor pump? One that can go up to 200psi or greater? I'm looking at a Silca and SKS, recommendation on either? Thanks.

I just purchased the SKS "Rennkompressor" at christmas. Very heavy duty construction with cast iron base, steel pump tube. It cost me £40 (about US $60, depending on exchange rates). This is somewhat expensive, but the construction quality is excellent, and compares reasonably to the other high quality offerings. What influenced my choice was that the bike shop recommended it - it is what they use in the workshop. I believe it's rated up to 170 psi, and getting 700x23 tires to 120 is easy. It will outlive me and my grandchildren!

Mine goes up to 120 easy,its called an air compresser.

Ive had a Silca (don't know model I think cost 50 -60 usd all steel w/ wooden handle) for about 10 years. Only now is it acting up a bit but all I gotta do is replace or just grease the cup. I can get 8 bar easily but I dont know about 200 psi?

Ditto. $30 and a visit to Wally World. You can get a rechargable one to drag around in the car.

Has the added advantage of pumping up the truck tires. Like to see you do that with a hand pump...........

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna go with the SKS, but will keep the air compressor in mind, for the future...not a bad idea. :)

Are you planning to run an air impact wrench off of this pump? Nailgun? No need for that much pressure.

Silca makes a good pump. I have two Specialized Airforce Team pumps and they work great. About $40 - $50. Gauged to 160 psi. Plenty enough.

I just got a set of tubulars that can run upto 220psi, so I figure I'd give it a try to see how it feels.

The pump for my air rifle goes up to and beyond 200 bar. It's 3 stages and generates a fair amount of heat and condensed water.

Made a slight error in my original post - I was using my SKS Rennkompressor yesterday and noticed on the box that it is rated to 224 psi, not just 170 as I wrote before. 170 is the rating on my SKS vector alu frame pump!

Silca makes a good floor pump. I've had mine about 10 years. Recently, my pressure guage would show a drop in pressure on the upstroke. I removed the valve in the bottom, cleaned and lubed it and now the pump works like new again. Other than this the only thing I've done is replace the chuck about three years ago.
