Love the last sentence of this email I received:

Finally, just wanted to let everyone know that our registration fee increase for the 2008 ride takes place at midnight on August 31st. In addition, our "Addicted" duet cheerleaders will return to the finish line of the Iowa Hill Time Trial.

I'm being pressured to ride in the Auburn Century since I skipped it last year...and since I live here! I have no love for Iowa Hill Rd...

I did Iowa Hill last year as part of the Connect For A Cure Century. OMG! If the 2-miles of Iowa Hill doesn't kill you, the next 15 miles of climbs will! I didn't eat right on that ride and SUFFERED dearly for it.

Hmmmm...Iowa Hill...

I have a love / hate relation with that place.

I made a beginners mistake the first time I rode it and "Time Trialed" the hill. Bad mistake. Paid for it dearly all the way to Robinson Flat. Must be mentally unstable, but I want to do the 140 miler. However I am coaching an athlete that will (probably) be going to state championships. Same day. :notamused:

I didn't do Iowa Hill like a time trial ... I just treated it like any ordinary hill, just trying to survive up the hill. I probably should have stopped at the top, and posed for a picture with the pez girls.

I time trialed it 50 miles in with 90 to go. I think I made it in 17:30.

I don't think I can beat that time right now, even with fresh legs.. :(

Rydaddy, you are an animal. Youth trumps experience (and old age). I guess I have to wait for 2012 to ride this sucker. I love the course

I think Dan, owner of Victory Velo in Auburn, is the time trial record holder. He did it in 14-something. Pretty amazing. I would be happy just finishing it!

Yes, and he has a long standing $50 payout for anyone to beat his time. Last I heard no one has done it yet. Any takers?
