he probably would've run a 9.5something if he wasn't showboating already at the end...then again if i was anywhere near that fast I would be showboating as well.

I was bothered by the shutting it down before the end, but not because i think it's improper...i wanted to see what he would have run. What phelps did is incredible, for sure...but i've seen a lot of track sprints, i don't think i've ever seen someone beat that level of competition by that much. Nuts.

He cruised in the semis as well. Let up and started looking left and right. Almost like it was a dress rehearsal for tonights version of the fastest showboat on earth.

I really wish he would have finished at full speed. I want to know how fast he really is.

Think about it this way: the guy was running at 100% and really only has a few times in a 1 week period where he can do that. He's got the 200 coming up, so by easing up he may have saved enough to beat Michael Johnson's damn near unbeatable time of 19.32. :)

Really, an incredible run. The guy was speeding UP at the end there when he eased up and at an eased speed NO ONE was catching up!
