Got my new charger and charged the AA's for the first time. Tried them out this morning and got less than an hour on blinking mode with my Fenix L2D Flashlight. Is this the norm for rechargeables? This is about half the time of alkaline batteries. Used the Energizer rechargeables. Has anyone tried the new Duracell rechargeables?
thanks for your help

If those were new Energizer AA 2500 mAh batteries, it sounds like might have gotten a bad batch if they gave you such a short run time in strobe mode. But, I have a bunch of the Energizers and have been terribly disappointed in their long-term performance. They're not consistent in that some will last a long time and some won't (even if from the same package). I don't spend money on Energizers any more, considering it more a waste than an investment in good batteries (again, that opinion based on personal experience using a couple of dozen of them over 2 to 3 years time in camera flashes and flashlights). But, before you write them off, try charging them again and see if you get better results.
The Duracell 2650s are much better. Try them and I think you'll see a big difference...you probably should be getting at least 3 to 4 hours (maybe more) in turbo blinking mode, I'd think (but I haven't tested this personally). The folks at Fenix-Store (now 4sevens.com) told me that in turbo blinking mode you ought to get at least double the run time that you get in straight turbo mode -- and in turbo mode you ought to get a good hour and a half to two hours off high-capacity AA NiMH batteries.

As a point of reference, I have been using 2500 mah Energizers. Refreshed them on my BC-900 charger... they show about 2400 mah capacity. I get about 3.5 hours in strobe mode with them. I'm looking to try the Duracell 2650s and see how they do (when I find some at a good price).
