Classic & Vintage - How old is the Selle Italia Flite?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
figured that some of you guys who have been around longer than i have would be able to answer this.
when did Selle Italia start making the Ti Flite saddle? i figured it couldn't be super old, but i wasn't sure.
when do y'all remember seeing them around?
the one i have looks old old old, but it could just be a lot of miles.
i have a build coming up with which i would be ok with a little anachronism, but not a whole lot.
i'm talking this sort of one:

Those go all the way back to the last century (but not by much). That is a good early one with the smooth cover and no logo patches, gel, or other crap.
I horde those as they are all I'll ride on my modern bikes. I'm burning up my last NOS white one now. Hopefully they will get reissued, as they are a truly great saddle. Super comfy, light, and good looking.
Another fan of the classic Flite. I noticed a NOS white one went for big money on the Bay recently ($171, if I recall correctly.)

Yeah, count me in as a fan as well. I wish I could get just the plain traditional solid color Flite saddles instead of the current "bling edition" models. The Flite and Turbo are my two all time favorites. I wish they would make them again too.

The Flite came out around 1990 or 1991. I put one on my first Serotta when I built it and still use them.
they came out near the end of '91, and were still for sale as late as 3 years ago.
this is what my original one (bought over the winter of '91-'92) looked like, before i retired it.

Mount that on the wall and you've got an objet d'art.
