except they are really small and it seems like you wouldn't be able to do much on it or am I wrong

It really depends on how flat the ground is where you plan on building them. If it's not flat, it would be better to build a miniramp with a 1-2 sheet wide deck that's level; if it is flat, than it would be better to build a pair of quarterpipes, set about 1-2 sheets apart, with 1/8"-1/4" thick stainless plating against the ground so that you don't have to pull up into the tranny.
