Triathlon - Specialized Trivents in Bay Area

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anybody have any ideas on a shop that stocks these in the Bay Area? It's unbelievable, with Zoom closed there's hardly anywhere that carries a bunch of tri shoes. Specialized does not permit online retailers like all3sports or trisports to ship Trivents (they permit you to order but you have to pick up). And, www.specialized.com is out of stock on all reasonable sizes.
Have Cancun coming up and would like to ride in something other than my Sidi road shoes.
Thanks.

Thanks, will do. Wouldn't you know, I was in Davis on Saturday for kid's soccer tournament. Never even thought about Davis Wheel Works. Duh.
How did you like them, anyway?

Google tri shops in San Diego. Tri's are very popular there. I called around and found a shop that had my size and was willing to ship them. If I remember correctly, it was Revo Cycles in Dana Point.

Ha. I work for Yahoo! I can't "Google" anything, it pains me too much. Thanks for the suggestion. I went to Mike's Bikes and tried on their highest end Specialized road shoe, and measured myself on the measurer thingy. The size on the scale matched what fit on my foot. Found a store that ships them from the Northeast and hopefully they fit for real when they arrive. Thanks for the suggestion.

If in makes you feel any better, I had some lower end Specialized Road shoes from a few years ago...loved them. Went to buy some Trivents and three years later Specialized sizes (at least for me) still ran true. Wore a size 45 three years ago in road shoes, 45 in a Trivent today. By the way, love the Trivents.

I have 07 S-Works road shoes, 08 S-Works road shoes, and my Trivents. They all fit about the same in length.

They came today. Yay! And they fit, seems like prefectly. Even if my feet swell a little, which they no doubt will in Cancun. Thank god I finally found a shop on the Internet that either balks at their no ship policy or for some reason isn't subject to it. The 2008s are being discounted by 10-15 bucks now too. I really like the look and feel of this shoe. Of course, I haven't mounted cleats yet and haven't ridden them, but will this weekend.

I had some of these but I had to return them because the big strap sort of cut into the top of my right foot. Doubtless there is something odd about my foot anatomy. I hope yours work better than mine did. I loved everything else about the shoes.

Hey, I'm loving these shoes. I actually think they help me make a better pedal stroke for some reason, though I am having a hard time believing that shoes can do that. I read before I bought mine that some people have a similar problem with what you suggest and had to make a small cut, then problem solved. I'll try to remember where I saw that, could have been trifuel.com forums for equipment.
