And I'm fine with not being a real man.

1 red pepper, diced
1 white onion, diced
4oz rehydrated chopped oyster mushrooms (wild picked and dried earlier this year)
6oz shredded cheddar cheese
2 eggs
1T flour
1T buttermilk
1 frozen, pre-formed pie crust
paprika
salt
pepper

Mix the pepper, onion, mushroom and cheese in a bowl. Fill pie crust until heaping. Beat 2 eggs with the flour and buttermilk. Season with paprika, salt and pepper to liking. Pour egg mixture over filling, toss lightly with fork to coat entire mix.
Bake in 350 degree pre-heated oven for 1 hour.

(It's even better if you have some crumbled bacon to add in with the veggie/cheese mix, but I was out of bacon last night when I decided to cook.)

Count me as another not a real man. My wife is a quiche genius. She'll whip up a couple on the weekends and it'll be in the fridge for a quick, filling breakfast or snack. Awesome.

I am a fan of the frozen non-pre-formed pie crusts, just unfold them, lay'em in the pan, and off you go.

I got slapped one time when I ordered a quiche at Denny's. Who knew is was pronounced "keesh"? Looked like "quickie" to me.

I use those for making samosas. We made a huge batch of samosa filling, froze it back in 2 person servings, and we just break one out of the freezer and use the pre-made rolled pie crusts.

Real men shave the hair off their scrotums with a WeedEater(tm)!!!

Quiche is just an omlette in a pie crust...

Edit* The Mrs. just said quiche is a French quickie. I think we'll need to discuss this in depth after we get the kids to bed. :thumb:

negative. There is no reason ever to make any kind of crust. Unless you are a contestant on Iron Chef.

Real men eat anything that doesn't move fast enough. This would include quiche, unless of course it is flung like a frisbee... And even then, if you can jump high enough and catch it in your mouth, it is considered just fine.

No. You get to make your own crust.

A fine distinction, but an important one.

Quiche is just an omelete that takes too long to make.

More correctly, quiche is a zesty custard which becomes an exercise in patience.

Call it egg pie if quiche sounds too foo-foo for your manliness.
