Since there is no "Duathlon" section, I figured this is the next best place for my report! So I raced in the Pleasant Prairie WI Duathlon on Sun 8-17-08, which consisted of a 2.5 mile run, 12.5 mile bike, and 5K run. The results:
run #1: 19:29
bike: 36:24
T2: 2:00
run #2: 24:07
Totals: 1h 21m 59s
I finished 21st overall, out of about 95 racers, and 2nd in my age cat. The results did not list a T1 time, I figure they rolled it into the run #1 time, as my bike computer time was close to the official race results. The race (my 1st organized bike/run combo race) was a BLAST, 2nd run was hard, w/legs cramping a bit. A friend that ran this race said the Dua was as hard as a Sprint Tri, if not harder, as it was all legs, all the time.
So I figured I've got to find out for myself if a Sprint is as hard! I signed up for my 1st Tri on Sept 6th in Lake Geneva. I'll report back as to the results and comparisons of the two types of races. I can also say, I am HOOKED on racing, what a great time! Whooop! :thumb:
