We just got a used Burley Rock& Roll tandem bike a couple weeks ago. The LBS had it as well as a few brand new cheaper tandems, I have to say that a ride comparison of the older Burley vs the new Kent felt different enough to impress my wife, who really preferred the Kent's frame style but just didn't care for the ride.

But anyway, I don't like the MTB handlebar on the Burley and would like to exchange them. Anybody with experience with the Burleys have any suggestions? I'm thinking of a moustache bar, but wasn't sure about size or if there'd be any mounting problems.

As long as the bars are the same diameter you can use moustache, drop bars or whatever fits. You could also add a set of Onza extension to current bars you have to allow a change in hand/body position for stoker. Burley R&R is a 1000% improvement over a Kent!
