15 year old and 12 year old have outgrown their bikes. They will only use them to ride around the neighborhood. We have an old diamondback that older son had and it is so heavy, I don't want to buy that for 12 year old. We also want to spend only up to $130 or so per bike.

I don't know much about bikes, but have read something about a hybrid? Any recommnedations are appreciated.

For that price you will pretty much be at your Xmart, unless you find something used. Not much difference between $130 bikes, so take your pick. Although I would say, that any shock you get for that pricepoint will not be very good, so if you get one make it only a front shock and not a full suspension bike (front and rear shock).

After that it will be fit and comfort for the riders. You'll have to have them try out the different offerings to see what type of bike they want.
