I went over to the http://www.txbra.org/ site and saw there is an event calendar and a Tx Cup calendar with race specific events. Can someone explain to me what the Texas Cup series is?

I'm guessing points are awarded for placing in each event and state rankings are given at the end of the year? I didn't see an actual description of what it is.

Anyone got the scoop?

except for the pro race it just seems to be a fundraiser like the ms150.

You are confusing the Texas Cup series with something else. Texas Cup races are all USCF sanctioned races Cat5,4,3,2,1, Pro.
