Hi all:
I'm a newbie just trying to find the right folding bike for my application.
My son and I have a car racing team (i.e. space is at a premium) and I think a folding bike is just the right solution to our problem of getting from the racing paddock area to various other locations at a given race track.
I'm looking for recommended folding bikes assuming: i) no more than $450, ii) at least 3 gears for possible hills, iii) as light and as small as possible, iv) can handle at least 205lbs (me, not driver :)), F/R suspension would be nice but not required.
I have done a little research but need some suggestions other than Duhon Curve D3.

Since you're not looking for something to ride far, don't have hills to climb, and need a small fold, I think you're a great candidate for the Strida3 or CarryMe. They're both single speed, folds like umbrellas, long and thin.

It might be hard to find a Strida3, since the $799 Strida5 was released, but you see it on Craigslist or eBay occasionally.

How do the DownTube bikes compare to Dahon ad others relative to overall quality, ride etc.?

Thanks to all!
After doing a little research, I ended up with a very lightly used 2007 Dahon Boardwalk 7 speed off Craigslist.
I decided for the lowest common denominator of price since it will be at a race track and I wouldn't want to be to p****d if it "disappeared" some weekend.

That's a good choice. For your needs, it works very well. I would also suggest one of the Downtube models with full suspension like the IX FS.
