Foo - Southpaw Thread

I haven't seen a thread for the brotherhood/sisterhood of the southpaw. So here it is.

Do we get to carve paddles and hit each other with them like real brotherhoods do?

I am not a total lefty, but if the paw in Southpaw refers to hand, I am certainly left-handed, and left-eye dominant, too. In a strange twist, however, I kick with my right foot, and what little throwing I can still do is done with the right arm.

If I had a dollar for everytime I jabbed,stabbed, cut, poked, or busted my knuckles because I don't understand handtools I'd be rich. And how about learning to use sissors as a kid...WTH? God shouldn't allow left handed people. It took me 30 years to figure out I know how "it" should be done, I just can't go about it that way.

I'm not a true south paw either. Left eye dominant, but completely right handed. Throw, write, kick all right handed. Shoot a gun, or a bow, and I do it left handed ('cus of the eye) so....get it from my dad, no doubt, who does everything right handed apart from golf, which he does left handed.

I'm not sure if I am a true southpaw. I throw and bat lefty, but write, eat (cept for good bbq, which requires two hands) and shoot right-handed. I bowl right handed...but that don't count because I don't bowl and could probably bowl just as crappy with my left.

Maybe I'm not a southpaw, maybe I'm just confused.

I golf and shoot long guns right handed, pistol and bow left handed.

When I golf, I drive right handed and putt left handed. I'm left eye dominant. I can write more legibly with my right hand, but it's easier to write the correct direction with my left hand (yes, I write backwards with my right hand sometimes, by accident). I can kick a soccer ball equally well with either foot. I'm more powerful with my right hand, but more dexterous with my left.

When I golf, I curse left handed.

Left over right = Left handed.

Right over left = Right handed.

That's why so many police agencies used to use Ithaca Model 37 pumps. They ejected the spent shell out the bottom.

Close enough. Ball parks were typically built so that the pitcher's left arm was on the south side of the field. This kept batters from looking into an afternoon sun.

That doesn't seem to work for me. I am righty for everything... writing, shooting, bowling, kicking, personal stuff I won't write about... I even prefer to be on my lady's right side when sitting on a couch to make out, so that my right hand is positioned properly...

^^^^^+1^^^^^ I write kick throw everything else lefty. I can switch hit a softball over the fence either hand I can switch over and make a long gun shot right

You need to just to shoot a break open single shot then the empty will hit you in the fore head:roflmao2:

I write left, hold a fork with left, throw right, bat right, kick equally well (or bad) with either leg. I play tennis with the right hand, I can play ping pong with either hand but favor the left. I put my left eye in the viewfinder. I hold a pistol with the right hand but naturally want to aim with the left eye, which is awkward. I hold a rifle right handed (and it's been a long while but I assume that I reluctantly use my right eye to aim). I bowl right, miniature golf right, if I had a bow and arrow I would bow right, and I use scissors with the right hand.

I snowboard in a regular stance (left foot forward), which I guess is "right handed" (like batting right).

Mine are both the same...OMG I MUST BE BI!

I write left handed and I hold racquets in my left hand but most other things I do right handed.

I am also left eye dominant.

Me southpaw. So much so that I have a hard time riding single handed with the right hand on the bar. So when I'm riding one if the bikes with downtube shifters (I have two) I shift both levers with the right hand most of the time.

I'm a lefty but only actually write left handed. Everything else I do right handed. Except throwing a ball.

The oldest possession I have is my left handed Wilson baseball glove. 31 years and counting...

100% Lefty here. I am so much of a lefty that in 4th grade when I broke my left wrist, I used to have other people do my schoolwork for me, because the teacher couldn't read my right-handed scribble. Those were a good 3 months!
