Road Cycling - Orbea?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have been riding for a little while and I would like to get a better road bike.
One of my friends suggested the Orbea/Orca.
I was hoping I might get a little feedback on this bike.
Thanks

I own an Orbea XLR8R frame with Campy Record. The Orca is a new 2004 frame as you most likly know already. I have not ridden the frame but I was thinking of buying one to add to my Orbea collection. All the articles on this frame have given it rave reviews. As far as Orbea is conserned I have found this bike to be an excellent frame and one of the best values for the dollar. Orbea is trying to get there frames to sell in North America and as a result they are pricing the frames to attract buyers. Go for it, It's an awesome bike.
I'd also recommend an Orbea. I have a 2002 Orbea XLR8R, which is much different from the new Orca. However, whatever Orbea frame you get, you'll be happy with the quality of the frame and company.
I was thinking about getting an Orbea but I'm going to wait another year and get the new Giant carbon frame.
I heard the Orca is heavy and flexy from one of the guys on another site. There's a review here but they always give positive reviews.

That bike looks like it would cost way more than 2200 US am i reading something wrong.
You can go here and type Orca in the search engine and read some more thoughts.

Orbea does some lovely paint work. Saw one somewhere in two-tone orange/yellow that made the bike look as if you could eat the thing. Gorgeous bikes.

$2200 is the correct cost of the Orca frame and fork. Again Orbea is trying to get a foothold into the North American market and they price there products below the market to get market share and brand awarness.

I have an Orbea, granted it's a bottom-of-the-range Enol, not a sexy carbon Orca, but even so, the quality is outstanding.

Below which market? $2200 might not suffice for a frame/fork combo from Colnago, De Rosa, Pinarello, Fondriest, Serotta, etc. But there is plenty of competition from other high-quality manufacturers in this field.

Orbea builds a great bike. I can't personally vouch for the Orca, but the rest of their line is good stuff.
