BMX - why are threads closed sometimes?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm not the moderator, but I'll answer this one as well as I can. Some threads are closed because the discussion in the thread sometimes gets away from the original question. At other times, people have started exchanging insults over some of them, and closing a thread is preferable to banning someone outright.

Others are closed sometimes because the same question is posted in two or more threads at once, when there is only a need for one, and it's easier if all the answers are in the same thread.

because it gets away from the original question. who cares? if it's not vulgar why stop it?

You know, I don't believe I've ever seen a 20-inch cyclist. Come to think of it, I've never seen a 20-inch anybody before. That's pretty small.

Kinda reminds me of a joke I heard about a man that walks into a bar carrying a tiny piano and a 12-inch pianist...
Of course, that's not really appropriate; this isn't the joke forum.
