Hi all

The Problem: Fat A**e (bottom)

Solution: I am training lots in gym and new bike (-:

Problem: I am now even more hungrier than ever and struggling to diet!!

Read a recent article about a chewing gum that supresses hunger pangs and helps restore some levels of something or other?!!?

The article was written by a doctor and it is supposed to work.

Any thoughts people, i am fed up with weight issue!

Im not an expert, but I have read on many occasions that chewing gum is a bad idea when dieting. Because you are chewing it, your mouth makes more saliva, and you keep swallowing that, and supposivly that makes you feel hungry. Or something like that ....

If you are doing aerobic exercising, you will need to consume more carbohydrates. Aerobic exercise is primarily feuled by carbohydrates. The trick is to add the carbohydrates without adding other stuff.

What I do is generally cut down on other stuff and try to add complex carbs - fruits, vegetables, whole grains.

The thing is is some people go over board. They ride a bike 3 miles and that seems like a really LONG way, so they decide to reward themselves with a hot fudge sundae.

You can figure about 30-55 cal per mile ridden. Your body stores about 2000-2500 cal of carbohydrate in glycogen. You need to top this off after every day's exercise (not all the calories burned will be glycogen some will be fat).

A long ride can get very close to depleting glycogen. To get 2000 cal of carbohydrate you have to eat a whole bunch something like 20 medium baked potatos (no butter). The trick is to get the carbohydrates without adding those yummy fats.

Also there are a fair number of foods that have high fiber and carbos and not very many calories so they are filling. Things like bananas, oranges, grapefruit, green beans, brocolli, spinach etc etc.
