Foo - What is your primary vehicle's fuel economy?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My bike gets about 1000 miles to the gallon if I could metabolize gasoline. If you meant to say primary Motor vehicle then 10 MPG. Have not used it in months.

My primary vehicle is my Bianchi Volpe. I don't own a car.
My wife's Civic gets 36 city. My Tacoma pick up does about 19 city.
What the hell... my 96' dodge stratus 2.5L V6 gets 22mpg highway... something's wrong (aside from the fact that it's an american car).

32 mpg on my 07 mazda 3.
I'm glad to see nobody's primary vehicle is in the "0" mpg zone, that would be difficult.

My old monster Jeep got 8 mpg on a regular basis...My old cargo van (3/4 ton, extended wheelbase, extended body, 5.7L V8, 4-barrel carb, headers, and some crappy late-70s "emissions" equipment) would probably get something like 8-10 MPG, had it not been relegated to "storage shed" duty for the last decade. That 33 gallon gas tank would be a ***** to keep full these days...

6.6 liter (401 V8) and late 70's crap. Put out like 220 horse but a gob of torque. It was the Wagoneer version, roughly 6000 lbs dry... thing was a beast.

mine depends on what i eat.
hmmm, ZIP, well unless you deduct the residual gas produced after meal in order to produce energy in order for vehicle to ... go.
:D just messin with ya. Car free.
However I do use public transportation for the really really bad black ice/heavy snow winter days - and in order to get to Toronto, etc.

My primary vehicle gets ∞. (recumbent)
My secondary vehicle also gets ∞. (small wheeled fixie) :D
My primary motor vehicle gets between 31-40 mpg. It's an '83 Citroen GSA and is only used for hauling heavy loads or trips around the South Island for tramping and such. I forget what my secondary and tertiary motor vehicles get as they haven't been used in over 10 years.:o

2003 mitsubishi Galant, 2.4 litre engine, 4 speed automatic trans, 21/28 mpg city/hwy. I can squeak out 30 if I'm good to it and run good gas.
Had to sell my 1988 Jeep Wrangler. 4.3 litre engine, 5 speed manual transmission, 4 inch lift with 33' swampers. 8/12 city/hwy

My 2007 Genuine Buddy 125 gets 100 mpg. I am about to trade it in for a 2008 Kymco Xciting 250 Ri, or maybe a Piaggio X9, that will allow me to comfortably use the freeway, but fuel consumption will go up to about 60mpg, which is still pretty rad. I spend about ten dollars a week for gas, currently.

1994 Toyota 4wd truck 18-22mpg
We usually walk or ride bikes though.
I am halfway through my 3rd tank of gas for my jeep for this year. It gets about 18-20mpg, but it rarely gets driven. Last time I filled it was early July. Bike is primary mode of transportation.

As for my YJ I'll prolly put the 4th tank of the year in it, (only 2 tanks last year) it averages 15.
Our 07 Xterra averages 18.

2000 Outback with 312,976 miles on it, AND a roof rack for 2 bikes, routinely gets 26.7 MPG.
I can't figure out to kill this thing (without causing undue harm to me or it) so I can get a Honda....

My boat gets 0.8 mpg if I take it easy
What kind of boat is that? My Cal20 got around 500 miles per gallon, as I only used the kicker to motor out of the slip to the race course. If the wind was right, I sailed in and out.

You know, there's been a lot of posts on here about the Prius' "smugness factor" (I think they're great, but it's something I've noticed,) and I was just over at Saturn's website and they have hybrids that get 32 mpg. Now what kind of damn fool rides around in a more expensive hybrid that gets the same mileage as a regular Honda Civic, except for reasons of smugness? I have a hard time reconciling the dumbassitude.

My 1993 Acura Legend is going through some cooling problems right now (it runs fine, but if you use it for long distances and then idle it, the engine temperature rises way above normal...then comes back down again after getting out of idle). Thus, mpg is low at 17-18 mpg.
