Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - My Helmet Cam setup Perfected

After playing around with different ideas for a couple of months, I finally have settled upon the right combination for comfort and versatility with my helmet cam.

Top photo was taken in a mirror so everything is reversed. Mirror is on my LEFT side when wearing helmet.

When I turn my head to look right or left, my head tilts. So in order to get some nice level horizon when I am looking around I can see the bubble moving about in my peripheral vision. If the bubble is moving, the camera is level enough. If the bubble is all jammed up to one side and still, I need to tilt my head a bit.

The Take-a-look is just clipped to my visor. I use a twist tie as insurance in case I bump it on something when I am not wearing it on my head - like carrying it around the grocery.

As for the leash - that's personal. :lol:

Cool. Just take it easy at first and progress little by little. It takes some time to get really good at this kind of riding without taking huge chances. Keep your eyes moving and do not get distracted by anything, ever.

I can understand some of the justifications for your riding style; really, I can. I remember reading an article a few months ago about a small town in Germany (I think) where not only did they get rid of traffic lights, they got rid of all traffic signs altogether. Accident rates dropped by a precipitous amount because all of the drivers were more hypersensitive to their surroundings. That being said, I don't bike like you do; I stop at stop lights and obey all traffic signals. I just can't trust the cagers...

YouTube trashes the quality. That's why I post on Vimeo instead. However, I noticed that YouTube has a link on nearly every page that gives the option to view vids in better quality. I have not tried that yet.

Lately I've been experimenting with crossing one direction of traffic at a time instead of waiting for the entire road to be clear. I did that today on a 50mph road with 3 lanes of traffic going one way and 3+1 left turn lane in the other. Stupid traffic lights...
