Fifty Plus (50+) - New uses for velcro leg bands.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just came down with a cold. The first in a few years. I got infected by taking a plane trip next to someone who was coughing a lot, in the middle of two weeks of long stressful hours.
I don't know about other people, but if I am coughing hard there is one place in my forearm where I guess the nerve gets pinched and hurts a lot when I am coughing. I often have to clamp down on it with my other hand.
But today, I tried wrapping a velcro leg band around the spot to provide support and it works wonderfully. :D
Anyone else have non-standard uses for bicycle equipment?

I used to use a bike as a slingshot.
I have seen clocks made from chainrings and in one case even a wheel.

If you use wire beaded tires that are tight on the rim, they may be hard to get off of the rim if you flat. You can use the quick release lever as a tire iron to get the tire off.
I use the big ring of the crank as a temporary tatoo installer on the side of my calf. :bang:

Yes, there seems to be bike sitting there on the hard with no shelter. Or else a person without a bike.

If you need a short strong tie down, a toe strap can't be beat.

This windchime now has a smaller rim on the inside, and both rims filled with chainrings. It actually makes a nice sound.
