Folding Bikes - Curve D3 magnetic latch coming apart

I'm noticing that the magnet in the smaller end of the magnetic latch that holds the bike together when folded keeps popping out of the metal holder. Has anyone been able to fix this? I'm thinking some epoxy might do the job.

Mine hasn't had that problem so far, but if it were me, I would use some JB Weld or Gorilla Glue. ;)

predtty much anything will work as it needs only a little more holding power than it has already
cause in most cases it stays in there to begin with....

I just added Ergon grips, and when I tried to fold the bike in a hurry to catch a train, I snapped the SRAM grip shifter cover off. The shifter works fine, it's just the cover. Now I have two things to glue on.

How are you finding the grips? I've got the BBB ergonomic ones at the moment. They feel massive and add over 100g to the bike, but they're comfortable and armchair-like. I think I'd be better off with the smaller size as it makes the brake levers feel like a stretch.

When i was test ridden the Curve D3 same thing happened to me with that plastic cover.... i was pedaling in 2nd gear, tried to lower to 1st, it was pretty stuck and then CLICK.... the plastic cover snapped.... lucky me, i have noticed that right away but it was pretty weird, i mean the it was a brand new bike..... then at the shop the guy mentioned that it happens all the time with the Sram shifter and there is an easy way to put it back with a little Crazy Glue.

Pretty awesome, actually. I have the Ergons with the itty bitty barends. The bike is much easier to control.

One thing that I'm not keen on is that the bar end end is made of plastic, and it extends outwards enough that my hand is sometimes resting on it. The specialized grips look better designed in that department:

Ergon also makes them without the little barends, and I had those on my MTB next to a pair of antler-like barends. That was an awesome setup. I'd do the same thing on the Curvve if only I could fold it that way.

Whan is somebody going to make a pair of folding barends?

I've got the Ergons on my Tikit and love them. I bought one pair for the Tikit and now have them on all my bikes, except the ones with drop bars.

Are the bar ends on Ergon grips plastic? I had a set I decided not to use and I though they were metal. I'm headed to my LBS today so I'll check.

My Ergon R1 grips were scraped up a little in a fall, and the barends are very clearly metal.

I puicked up some superglue gel last night and glued the shifter cover back on. I also picked up some Gorilla glue at Home Depot and went to glue the magnet. Ironically, the magnet was wedged into the holder very tightly!

It'll come loose sooner or later, and I'll keep it aside when it does. I tossed a bungee cord into my backpack to hold the bike together whan it becomes magnetically challenged.
