If you have more space than cash.

Made primarily of 3/4-inch black iron pipe and fittings. The connector is a short piece of aluminum seatpost bolted to a 3/4-inch black iron reducer fitting. Hang bikes vertically or horizontally. Hang two at the same time if you like. Costs about $10.

I use an old trailer-hitch mount bike rack I found. Just used the vertical arm with the two vinyl-covered support hooks.
The square-section tubing fit right over an old piece I had left over from a piece of exercise equipment I had pirated for some project; the result is a workable stand that takes down easily for storage.
