I just had the best carrot cake ever. It came from Jewel, of all places. Go buy some. Enjoy. That is all.

mmmm... love carrot cake.

every time i go to chicago i stock up on swedish flops from Jewel.
They only make them certain days. The un-fruit filled is much more delish in my opinion.

I also stuff myself with Unos pizza (the original uno) hotdogs ONLY from the street vendor, roasted nuts on navy pier, an italian beef sandwich, and usually one big ol italian dinner.

Its alot to pack into a weekend.

not possible. unless Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House (http://www.hugosfrogbar.com/)gets their Carrot Cake from Jewel.

its big. three layers. they serve up 1/3 of the entire cake with a steak knife to slice it, cause its soo darn big and delicious, and it only cost $14. :D

later.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2164/1564603916_fe14c578ae.jpg?v=0:thumb: the ones with that red fruit stuff (raspberry or strawberry) are pretty good, but I prefer without.

OMG it is so amazing.

my ma grew up in chicago, so there's usually a list of treats I have to bring back. Among them, flop and rosarita refried beans (with jalapeno). (although sometimes I can find those here now)

I actually think chicago treats are best left IN chicago where I have to go there to them. I put on 10lbs on my last visit. ;)

Gio, i live 10 mins from Jewel, but i hate shopping...and spending my own money. Can i send you a grocery list and you fedex it to me? Or is that a bit too much to ask?

Yes, yes it is.

Hm, I wonder who else lives in Chicago. It would be nice if we all got together and had dinner.

There was some sort of bakery I went to on my visit to Chicago a few years ago... I can't remember what it was called or even where it was, but WOW they had some good pastries. What's with all these food threads? They're making me hungry.
