Hi, I would like to remove the rack and keep the rear fender / mudguard. However, it wobbles if I remove the rack and it did not come with the brackets to keep it from doing so. Is there someway or something I can buy to keep the original fenders or I need to buy a new one with the brackets? Thanks!

It didn't come with the bracket? Ugh. That sucks. You could probably call Dahon, let them know it was missing, and they'll probably send you a replacement for free.

No, it didn't. The fender is attached to the rack, but there is no support if I remove the rack and it wobbles a lot. I guess they are doing this for the 2008 model :(

good point ...... its a super neat atatchment for the fenders as long as you are usuing the carrier....

let me try to get clips and stays alone ..... you might have to shorten the stays as I will shoot for one size fits all 20 inchers..

not happening in the next week .. but stay tuned

Thanks thor. I did my ghetto mod or DIY.

What I used:

- Cloth hanger, the ones they give you for free in the laundromat/dry cleaners. It has a clear plastic coating so it is good against rust.
- Dremel, a drill works too. I tried with a hole opener, but the plastic is very hard (fenders are very good quality).
- I reused the screws from the rack.
- 20 minutes.

Total cost= $0

Hope this helps anyone with a 2008 Curve D3!

That looks pretty neat. I find those clothes hangers very useful too and put them to a whole variety of uses where stiff wire can be employed.
