Hi all,
Given a lovely day in the UK, i did my 1st ride with my new enduro SX. The bike rides very similar and very dissimilar to my previous rockhopper . It feels much more agile, can eat most of the trail stuff i meet, and can actually climb at the same pace as the hardtail. The precautions i had concerning geometry of the frame (4x only etc...) are a thing of the past, the thing rides like a dream for trail/FR stuff, and the rear suspension works perfectly (in comparison with a GT Idrive).
Maybe i am not the best person to judge rear suss, but i am 100% happy with the bike! I ll keep it to the end ;).
As far as the ride goes...i went exploring along a promised woodland 7miles from my house. 5 of those miles were Tarmac Uphill ultra steep, so i walked most of the uphill. When we reached the woods we knew nothing about the area, but we were able to find 4-5 singletrack DH runs....nothing too fast, but they were quite technical with 2" of deep soft mud.
The best part which is a 1st class experience for me is a tunnel-like network of singletrack parts. The folliage and trees on these woods were VEEEEEEERY dense and actually the singletrack that passed through them was into tunnel like creations. Someone must have cut tunnels...these were man made... Anyhow the feeling was like riding a nature-rollercoaster.
