Many of those accents were not very Texan, though I did see the Alamo in one shot, so I suppose at least some of the footage was shot in Texas.

There was an 18 wheeler trailer that looked like it had the Dallas Cowboys star logo on it

You need to travel more if you consider Austin a big city.

You need to travel more if you consider Austin a big city.

Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, biggest cities in Texas. It is in the top four, and it seems to be a bastion for weirdness in a state of conformists and wannabe's .

True, They're all Ivy League insiders with accents to disguise their affiliations.

Stephen F. Austin came from Virginia and Crockett came from Tennessee. Don't tell me you would deny their Texas bonafides too.

Crockett came to Texas because Tennessee would not elect him to office, hence his quote "you may all go to Hell and I will go to Texas."

My folks came from the Border Country of Scotland, via Ireland and North Carolina, on my Mom's side, to Texas in the 1830's. My Dad's folks came from Louisiana, from German and French stock, in the 1920's. The Bushes are immigrants from the Northeast, who came to Texas because of the oil boom. Where are the elder Bushes during the summer? Not Texas, but Maine. Where did "W" go to college? Not Texas. Many Texans disliked electing an Ivy Leaguer as governor. "W" had to work really hard to appear to be Texan enough. Many Texans were only too glad to kick him upstairs.

Many Tennesseeans came to Texas during the land grant era, loving the deep, rich soil, which contrasted greatly with the thin, rocky soil of much of TN. The first President of Texas, of course, was a Tennesseean, Sam Houston.
