So...my sister is 3 years younger then me and was going to spend this week in Key West with 3 of her friends (1 her age, 2 a year older then her). Clearly, that plan FAILED when Fay reared her ugly head, so they ended up spending the week here in Orlando staying at my parents place. I was there when they arrived (home cooked meal and all) and I had met the younger of the friends before. One of the two new ones caught my eye pretty quick though.

I'm usually wrong about this sorta thing, but me thinks she kinda liked me. Of all of them, she was a lot more talkative towards me, and made it a point that I was to sit next to her at dinner last night. AKA "YOU are sitting next to ME!" (direct quote from her). So we talked at dinner of course, but nothing too flirtatious (i was pimping, 1 guy with 4 girls [ignore fact that one girl was sister, whose nickname on the lacrosse team is Frank the Tank]) and were sitting pretty close together by the end of things. Go back to parents house afterwards, and go upstairs with the group to watch tv show they had on DVD. Of course, guess who I end up sitting next to...well, sorta in front of. L shaped sofa, she was in corner of L and i was on bottom side of it (so she was staring into back of my head to see TV). Her feet were pretty close, but not contact. Didnt help that my sis was sitting next to her. Anyways, she was insistent that I come visit them this year (she suggested that I could sleep on a couch/futon, then mentioned that she did have a queen sized bed ) and when i left (at 1AM) she was sad that I would miss out on the 'massage train' (my sister was glaring at me by this point) and as i walked away she yelled 'how about a group hug?' to which i responded 'i think my sister would kill me if i did that'. I was def. crushing on her by then , and thoughts of her queen sized bed fluttered through my mind all night. So now its very very tempting to go visit her up in NYC (they all go to Columbia) in the hopes of getting in that bed, sister-be-damned.

For the record, 2 of my 5 or 6 (i forget exact number) ex's are also her age, and height...so yeah. It probably doesn't mean anything, but a poor boy of Foo can only hope...

So, foosters, lets hear your witty comments.

My sister dated one of my good friends. His nickname became the "minuteman". Things can spread pretty quickly...

that totally made .

anyway, you'll kick yourself more if you don't try to 'get in that bed' than if you do try and get rejected. Soo... I say go for it!

And from the sounds of it, I'm thinking you're not likely to get rejected. Although, posting a shirtless pic of yourself flexing or something might help me make a more accurate assessment?

Now that might burn out your eyes (or make you do an Oedipus Rex on yourself). I may only be in the 160lb mark, but i can assure you most of that is covered up by the shirt...not nearly in the shape i used to be. Though, i'll post a shirtless pic of me if you post a shirtless pic of you :P

On a more serious note, do you think its worth pursing to the point of digging up her email or checking out her facebook? I removed myself from Facebook (don't have any friends you see, so kinda pointless) so...

Or should i search my room first (at my parents house) to see if she left anything behind? O.o

UnsafeAlpine

you're obsessing too much. ask your sis for the email. if she doesn't give it to you, leave it. If she does, email the chick (ONCE) and see what happens.

I agree with UA ^
and, for cripes sake, don't stalk the girl. If you're already on facebook, thats one thing.... but why are you looking around for something left behind?

TitaniuMerlin

When they went out one day this week they drove by where i live, apparently she wanted to leave me a note? So she might have left one behind in my room? Probably not, which is why i should have never mentioned this in the first place. More my imagination/fantasy then anything. I'll go back to my place amongst the Dust Bunnies of Foo....

Hey hold it, how much of the first post is true and how much is your imagination? If it's all true, I don't see any problem with using all available resources to get her e-mail address., But yeah, send just one e-mail, don't start acting all stalkerish. :p

Not in that manner, UA! (if only...)

Well, since Fay was dumping rain on us, and my parents house is new, some water started to come up through the floor boards. Long story short, we had to empty a cabinet full of 500 or so books, before we could move the very heavy cabinet. Anyways, we got a little chain gang thing going. However, when handing off to her, there was much hand touching...like, not a slight finger tip brush, but half the hand on top of each others. No contact what so ever with the other exchanges w/ the other girls. Then, huddled around the laptop later in the day (after dinner i think) there was much brushing up...mostly he back to my side etc...and it wasn't exactly like she was shying away from it (and i'm not one to freak out by brushing up against an attractive girl).

Of course, I read into things too deeply, and it probably doesnt mean anything.

Dude, I have been in your shoes and it DOES mean something. It means everything.

I missed out on way too much thinking "I read into things too deepy and it doesn't mean anything" just to find out a short while later that it meant *everything* and it was my loss.

I like these stories but at the same time I am soooooo glad I am married!

P.S. She is probably thinking the same thing about you and wondering if you got her blatant forwardness or not.

TitaniuMerlin
08-22-08, 02:05 PM
I sure hope so. Could be rather embarrassing in the end. And if she did like me, theres no way she is telling "Frank the Tank" (aka my sister) and if she did, "Frank" wouldn't say anything about it to me. My sister is very quiet about things like that and all. I'll check out facebook once i get home (they blocked it here at work).

Update: Well she added me on Facebook, so can contact her that way. Plus, it has her screen name and email address. But i'm NOT gonna go creepy stalker-ish on her, give it a few days perhaps before i drop her an email or IM (which would be better in this case?). I can always use the pretense of asking her about her season schedule etc.

The answer is simple and will surprise you:

Do it your way (i.e. be yourself). If your way or your style doesn't work out, then maybe it isn't meant to be?

That is how I knew my wife was "the one" immidately. We had our date, I liked her and told her so, we both wanted to not let the night end so we didn't. We have only had one day in over 3.5 years that we weren't attached at the hip. We like it that way and we pursued it that way and it's been perfect (to us) ever since.

The point being our style would drive most people nuts but we discovered on the very first date that we had the same style and ta-daaa! The other point being I had a few dates in college where I liked someone and wanted to see them again right away but they were too busy dating 30 other people to see me and didn't have time to schedule me in. Not my style, so I didn't chase it. And thank goodness, too, because those gals got nuttin' on my wife!

wow, jeff, you look good from the back:pMaybe so, but...

Now I crept up from behind her
She looked so fine to me
But when I stepped around her, man
My eyes could plainly see

She was ugly from the front
She was ugly from the front
She was ugly from the front
And I said ugly-ugly-ugly-ugly-ugly

Well, Foosters, as we speak I sacrifice my beauty sleep to talk to her. Using the Facebook IM shing-dig. Haven't summoned up the nerve to email her yet, maybe on wednesday. She seems distracted, despite being 'excited' to talk to me. Not sure how to take that so....will update later if anything.

Perhaps. Short convo, and off to bed for the both us (though not together). It is midnight, and i'd have been in bed an hour ago. Lucky i was preoccupied enough to be on when she got on. Now i'm just as confuzzled as I was before. Doesnt help that I am listening to "Your Great Book" by Teltur (woot Pandora). Anyways, I know what i will be dreaming of tonight....

EDIT: Meh, I think i was right. Getting the cold shoulder. She's still on and i think it relates to her other columbian friend (the school, not country) being on too. At least, I hope so? Not too sure.

LIES! No, she's gone now. Didnt see her drop though. Too many numbers!

1. if she has her AIM on FB, she knows its on there. Just AIM her.
2. do not ask her on a date or anything via fb.
that one always irritates me and usually results in a decline. after all, my phone # is on there- and even if its not a guy could ask for it :-P
