Ok so I spend all day in the sadle, pushing the peddles. BUT I try to eat MORE than I NEED. i.e. if I feel I am full, I eat more. BUT I am NOT putting on WEIGHT. I am tempted to stop drinking so much water and replacing it with a mixture of olive oil, sugar and protein powder. HELP!!!!!1

Theres your answer. Its simple, you need to consume more calories than you burn.

How old are you and how much do you weigh now?

In some cases you have to just build muscle up. Best way for that is teh gym. You still have to consume more calories than you burn yes, but you need protein to build muscle.

I currently weigh 128 LBS excluding waterweight and I quite literally cannot gain fat weight. I have
to build muscle to gain mass, and it ain't real easy with my genetics.

In 2006 I sat around the entire year not doing anything for exercise and ate all day, and I ended up losing 5 pounds and going down to 120. My metabolism is on serious crack :/

My first question would be why do you want to gain weight? If it's for some sport other than cycling then I'd approach people in that sport for diet/training regimen. If it's for cycling I doubt weight gain should be an objective to begin with. If you can build strength without gaining weight you should be fine.

The body isn't just some simple machine.

If you're riding 5-6+ hours a day, there comes a point when it really doesn't matter what you eat, the body processes food in a way that you simply will not gain weight. I remember when I was riding 500-600 miles a week during training there were times when I would eat a full meal and an entire cake, and I still remained the same weight.
