I'm considering upgrading the old calipers on my 2001 GF sugar to discs. Whats everyones feelings on disc brakes?

If I do upgrade, anyone have recommendations? Thanks!

Having said this, I just upgraded my hardtail from v-brakes to Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes. I could not afford hydraulic brakes. After two rides, the Avids feel great!. So very smooth.
