Today I bought an herbal anti-inflammatory called Zyflamend, which actually seems to be working quite well. Anyways, my flight leaves tomorrow for school. Will I be able to have this as carry on luggage? The bottle is glass, about 3" in height and 1.5" in width, and inside are sixty gel capsules.

No, check it, ship it, or have your Doc write you a script and have it filled when you get there.

The TSA gave my father crap about his Nitroglycerin pills (although they did let them pass, but not without having to ask a few extra higher ups).

Damn, I was afraid of that. Even if they let this pass, it would, like you said, require some additional hassle.

Tape the capsules in a big loop and call it jewelry. :thumb:

carry it in your front pocket of your pants.. it will not set off security, just wear baggy pants/shorts.

put it in your checked luggage-
if you think there's a chance you might need it, throw a couple in an advil bottle or something with those pills and fish em out later.

d@mn TSA makes us feel like we're guilty and have to prove our innocence. Look, if this isn't a controlled substance then you are doing nothing wrong. Carry it how you like. If you want to get 'sneaky' put it in an empty over the counter drug container.

Lets not forget that the TSA is the one enforcing this -- not private companies.
The gel cap pills made it through without any difficulty, however the knee brace had to tested for explosives.

I wouldn't fret it too much. I carry a ton of medicine with me when I travel and have never had an issue.
Last trip I took Metformin (huge freaking bottle for a 90 day supply), synthroid, zocor, lisinopril, and androgel. No one asked a question. I took it in my carry on.
I would advise having a letter from your doctor just in case, though. And ditch the glass bottle. Plastic will be less of an issue as its not gonna be as fragile.

Only two people in history have ever successfully blown something up with a knee brace: MacGyver and Ted Kazcynzki.

A friend of mine accidentally got a Leatherman tool onto a plane in her carry-on bag, so anything's possible. (And this was just a couple of years ago.)

I got through with straight up vicoden, no questions asked. If you are really concerned, put them in a plastic bag or something instead of the glass container. Then just put them in your pocket.

They don't blink at my Epi-Pen, although I do let them know it's there.
