Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Components Question

This may be the wrong forum to be asking this in, but feel this is the friendliest forum and people will not rip me for not already owning Campy's latest top end or Dura Ace intially on my bike.
Who has had experience with Sram's road bike components. I recently played with the new rival group at the criterium championships at Sram's tent and I have to say I really liked it, I was ready to ditch my Tiarga on the spot, haha. So any advice or reviews on srams equiptment ingeneral. I was never thrilled with grip shift back in the day for mt. bikes, but I am really liking what I played with for road bikes.

I haven't used it, but there are many in the road forums that swear by it.
Go browse around a bit there, and you will find people raving about their road group.
Some people seem to love the double tap... although I think it would be a pain to use. Reviws are that it is easy to get used to.

Since you went to SRAM's "tent", I'd think the stuff they had on display would act flawless:)
IF Roadmaster had a tent, one would probably think they made OK bikes.
A mechanic at my LBS is going to put SRAM's Red on his new CAAD9. He told me that they are getting more and more request to switch out Tiaga, Sora components with the Rival and Force groups.

All of the reviews I've read have been very positive. Check out the video review at TestRider.com (http://www.testrider.com/fly.aspx?layout=player&video=12) for example. Bicycling had a wrap-up of their long-term test of SRAM Red in the last issue and seemed suitably impressed. I've heard enough good things that I'll definitely consider SRAM the next time I buy or build a bike...

I'm running SRAM Force on my good road bike & have almost two years with it. It is great stuff.
There are complaints about the lack of trim on the big chain ring position, but careful set-up can minimize that problem, as it has for me. Very solid feel, spot-on, never miss shifting. It does give a clear 'click' for each shift, so it can telegraph you intentions to the rider next to you as you get set to sprint. But you can also pull the shift lever back to the bar to crack off very quick shifts in a sprint with minimal hand movement & loss of power.
The shifting is quickly learned. The only thing I miss from Shimano is being able to feel if I'm the big ring by pushing the shift lever. Try that with SRAM & you drop to the little ring.
