I am not promoting this company, I just think that what that fellow is doing is gonna open some eyes to alternative transportation like electric bicycles.

He is biking across Canada, and figures on only about $14.00 worth of electricity!!

He has already gone across almost 3 provinces, which for our southern neighbors, he has crossed basically Washington, Montana, and is partway across North Dakota!!

I find that just awesome, not just the adventure of the trip itself, but on an electric bike as well. To check his progress see :http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5652&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Yes, I saw that on ebikes.ca
That's pretty awesome!

I was thinkinng of making a trip from Toronto to Montreal on a custom tandem electric bike and when I heard of this exploit I was even more revved.

This is a huge eye opener to electric bikes as an alternative mode of transport.
Cool and exciting stuff!

Pretty neat bike, but, I question his use of regen. From what I read, the regen capability actually lowered the output of the batteries a bit. It also adds complexity and a small bit of weight.

I can see where it might be helpful on some long downhills in the rockies, so maybe using it to get over them is a good idea. But for the other 4-5K kilometers, I think he would be better ditching it.
