I bought an extra tube for my Mu P8 as i am going on a 5 day trip to Montreal next week and was wondering if the Schwalbe Marathon Racer 1.50" is ok with a standard 20" 1.75 BMX tube ? the tube instructions say it fits 1.50" - 1.95" tires and the guy at shop was clueless about folders and said it should be ok for the Marathon Racer but i am still not quite sure about the tube. Silly question huh ? :notamused:

Any comments ?

Sounds fine to me ... from memory, I have used 1.35-1.50 and 1.50-1.75 tubes in my Marathon Racer.

My Birdy had the larger size Schwalbe installed when I bought it. After some months the tube failed where it had folded on itself inside a Marathon Racer.

I replaced the tube with the smaller size Schwalbe tube not mean't for tires larger than 1.5" and thats what I'm going to stay with in future.

I would use the wider tube in an emergency but probably replace it as I don't know how to install them so that I could be sure that there are no creases.
