Mountain Biking - Men's Olympic Race...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Any full suspension bikes?

The commentators said something about there being a lot of hardtails despite a lot of technical sections. Crappy low-res Internet feed makes it hard to tell what people are riding though.
This Absalon guy is pretty ridiculous... at one point he almost crashed, but barring that he's probably got this locked up.

I think I saw one of the Swiss riders on a FS.

It's not the crappy low-res feed...it's just a weak example of technical.
Those are just the freakin' roadies who couldn't make the boring road course, so they trained like TDF junkies and then ran out and put 3hrs on a MTB and decided that they were MTB'ers:lol:

Sauser is on a FS, as he always is.
Lame course.

When I was trying to watch it last night, I hardly saw any FS bikes. I was suprised because with this being the Olmypics I was pretty sure that no expense would be spared on equipment. Off topic, did any one see that one guy shoulder check that tree?

It's not really about the expense. Hardtails are just better climbing bikes and on a very heavy climbing course like that course was a hardtail was a more sensible choice. The downhill parts wern't very technical or long so a full suspension bike is just not needed.

Well, I just learned something today. I just my 1st mountain bike. I got a 2009 Specialized Hardrock disc. I haven't even rode yet because we have been getting all of this rain from T.S. Fey and keeping my daughter.

haha, watched the olympics. I guess it was okay, Absalon was nuts, he is leading the rest by 1-3 minutes. That is just nuts.

What color?
I ended up getting the Satin Black one. I was going to get the green one since green is my favorite color. But then I started thinking, "My car is black, the motorcycle I had was black, the next motorcycle I get is going to be black, and all of my gear is black. So I just kept the black scheme going.

You know what, my favorite color is green. But when I was showing someone the bike that I got on my computer screen, the 1st one that popped up was the green one. He said, "Oh you got the Region's bike". I was like what are you talking about. He was like the bike that is in the Region's Bank commercials is the same color as this bike. I was like well my bike is black, but they do have this color green available. I almost went with it because I love green, but I just stayed with black.

I just watched that video. If you can't ride that course you should take up another sport. That course is way easy. I bet '66 could ride it with his walker.
^^ Hey, I thought this was a thread about reinstating Pete to Olympic competition after that UCI doping scandal, not about 66 spinning donuts on his Big Wheel. Stay on topic!

Hmm, you say that if you cant ride up that course you should take up another sport? What about the Woman then? I saw a lot of crashes.
^Those women who crashed on that course should stick to jazzercising.

I think that is for Mrs. 66 to do. Just my two cents.
