Foo - I think I may have broken my little toe

I stubbed it on the door, twice.
And really hard, too. Both times it got swollen and hurt so bad I couldn't walk for a day, but the swelling is gone now. I can walk on it, but there is still a lot of pain. Especially when I wear my tighter shoes.

I think I may have cracked it, because it's not blue or swollen or misshaped or anything.

Should I waste $20 getting it checked by a doctor, or just wait until it stops hurting?

Or could I have just sprained it or something?

Nothing they can do about it any way. If it were badly injured, you would not be walking on it at all.

Sorry to make light of your pain. I'm getting over a nice case of road rash. I'd much sooner take Ibuprofen than Tylenol (acetaminephin).

+1, any broken toe would show a pretty good deal of swelling along with very black and blue discoloration, and AllenG is right, all they would do is tape your little toe to the toe right next to it :)
I had a broken big toe and I swelled up good! and the bruise went up past my ankle! My wife broke her little toe and got the same result. We had both broken toes before so we took care of it at home and turned out just fine :thumb:

my big toe is an inch in diameter. When I broke it, the doctors were freaked out because they'd never seen a toe that big. ahhh... the fun you can have with deformed body parts.

Go see the doctor. If it's broken it won't heal correctly without treatment. Is it worth 20 bucks to have a messed up foot for the rest of your life?

If it's the big toe, they can't do anything about it. If it's any of the others, they'll just wrap it to the next bigger toe. There's no treatment for a broken toe. Just suck it up and take Ibu...

Tylenol helps reduce swelling, which is why doctors prescribe that over other pain killers when doing minor surgery. Otherwise use Ibuprofen or Aspirin.

I'm repeating what the doctor told my wife when she broke her toe. She was in a walking boot for a while until it started to heal.

If you can move it, it isn't broken.
