Great Ride today!! 39.55 Miles, 3 hours 7 seconds. This was the same ride I went on that was the hardest ride of my career - on 7/26/08 Ride 18 ( 39.45 miles, 3 hours 15 minutes (weight 5 pounds heavier than today). Welll here we are 8/23 Ride 31 - and I swear the ride got easier!!

I was dead last agin -but I did great! I remeber the ride being hugely hilly! Last time I rode I wanted to cry - and it was hot. This time it was spitting rain lightly at times, windy, cool - 80 degrees max. I knew to go easy anyway I improved my time 15 minutes without trying. I was concntrating on going slow so I woudl not get too tired for the hills.

Also - my ride partner and I were like a SAG vehicle. We found 2 people along the way - 3 flats and kept them company while they changed the flat - or my partner gave one a tube. One person had 2 flats - So he finallly patched up his tire and was good for the rest of the ride.

Anyway - I am off to go have a great rest of the day! Miss Bumble gets stronger! Or maybe the route got easier....It's a marked route - too. Go figure!

Awesome! I totally understand your feeling, as I just completed my first 30 mile ride.

It feels great to know you are getting stronger!

Congrats! I was just telling my riding partner today how amazing it is to think about my first big milestone - 3 miles to work. That was at the end of our 32.24 mile ride today. What a difference 3 months makes! Keep on truckin'!!

Congratulations! (I always love your posts BTW)

Group riding is great fun and it's the best way IMHO to improve yourself. Having someone around to help keep your mind off of your pain sure helps.

Sounds like you and your riding partner work like I do. I often end a ride with out a tube or down a cartridge of CO2 due to helping others I find along the ride.

Ride safe,
Keith
