I had to travel to Chicago and then Milwaukee to pick up my daughter
and her stuff . We moved her from her summer internship back to
college. As always, I checked out Craigs List before leaving and OMG,
there was a LWB Rans Nimbus (recumbent) for an affordable (to me) price.
I was able to convince my bride that this would be a wise purchase, well,
as wise as I can ever make anyway. I contacted the seller and the bike
was available and he was eager to meet us when we arrived in Milwaukee
later that week. I must admit, I was really getting excited. This was to
be a commuter bike....finally, a commuter recumbent.

Well, when I got into town and got all my daughter's stuff unloaded from our
Van I called and found out that the bike sold the day before we arrived.
Boo hoo!:cry: I hope I find another recumbent to purchase for
commuting soon.

By the way, I was shocked to see how dry the midwest is. We've been
inundated with storms for the last four or five weeks and our rain fall
is way above average.

Happy Trails

I had a local Craigslist seller sell a set of rollers out from under me in the time it took to arrange a car to pick them up.

Didja see the LWB recumbent trike in Batavia on CL lately? It could go a long way to reducing concerns about ice on those winter commutes...

Try a little further south. Coming back on the train from Denver, we went through a section of Illinois that's STILL flooded from earlier this spring.

Hey, I scan Milwaukee from time to time for such bikes. I missed that one.

Sorry that you did too.

We haven't had much rain over the past 2 months, just the occasional thunderstorm. Yet, there are still some areas with high waters from the June floods.

Going to check out a SWB Volae later this week. I'm keeping my fingers
crossed for luck.

Club newsletter came out today. A member has a Rans Stratus (LWB) for sale, $1200. PM me if you're interested.

TSL thanks for the Heads UP. I've seen a couple Rans Stratus (Strati ?)for about the same price over the past year. They are a fine machine but $1200 is a little steep for me right now. The Volae is $700 which is still kinda much for me, but a very fair price. Checking it out today, the major concern is the fit...I may be a little too tall for it.

It fit, I bought it. I'll post a thread at a later date.
