OK Guys - Went for a ride today - tackled another ride I had heard about starting at the Budweiser Brewery. Turned out it had some moderate hills. Not a 3 Gap mind you - but some slow hills. And a few steeper shorter ones. Also had the wind against us the entire time (It was a loop so I kept waiting for the wind to whisk me up the hill....I am still waiting!) Saw lots of animals - even a deer darted across the road in front of us. Saw turkeys, chickens, goats, cows, more cows, alot of cows, and horses and donkeys.

Had chips and fajita and a Bud Lite afterwards- for which I feel a little guilty. Time to stop eating out after rides! But for now I will let myself off the hook and just be~! We did not get fat from one meal out... after a huge ride!

Ok -
Here are the details: 44.52 Miles, 3 hours 43 minutes and 22 second ride time. (12 min mile - definitley took our time but had fun!). Next weekend is a 65 miler as part of a century ride so should be oodles of fun, too.

Nice ride :)

Good luck for next weekend - 65 miles is just over a metric century...

The goats were soo cute... look at their little brown faces!!! I was trying to call them over...but they came over a bit and then figured out all I was holding to give them was more grass.

LOL. They probably thought "Is this woman crazy? We can get grass anywhere!". Next time whip out a Powerbar and I'm sure they'll come running.

Great ride report. I totally love them. :thumb:

Thansk Richard - My ride partner wanted me to feed them a Cliff bar - but I did not want to hurt them. I figure they are used to digesting grass - not power bars... So i am semsitive to that. We saw a man who rides with apples to feed the horses...I was looking for the 25cent machine for the pet food - but could not find it!

Goats can eat anything, don't worry about them. They eat sticks and briars if there isn't much else. People use them to clear pasture that is too rough to get a mower into.

Even if goats can eat anything, thank you -- we used to keep horses on a neighbour's farm, and we had to move them elsewhere when the farmhouse was rented out to some city slickers who thought they could just feed them anything whenever they wanted. :twitchy: Good way to give a horse colic.
