"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Tour de France 98 vid

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Okay, so has anyone got a video of the 98 Tour they can send me? I've tried to buy it before but haven't been able to find it.

I've been looking for the 1998 Giro for a while.
BikeInMN, I swear they just put that 1998 Tour VHS back up on their site today. (and the giro 1998 vid)
I'm sort of afraid to order from there again.

Did you get bad service or just spend too much :D
They're local for me so I just swing over on my lunch hour. For Valentines Day my wife picked me up the 1976 Paris-Roubaix and the Road to the Tour DVDs.

Bad service.
Wrong item sent; right item sent broken; right item sent OK; credit card double charged.
Do they seem like a reputable business? (judging by what you know as you can go locally)
Thanks for that. I emailed them about it a couple of months ago and got no response at all. Then it disappeared from the site altogether. I'll try them again.

They're the real deal and pretty good guys, at least the guys I know. I will say that they're not the most organized bunch and even the store front service leaves something to be desired. They're not really trying to rip you off, they just haven't worked out the kinks of mail order sales (not that they haven't had enough time).
I'm really not trying to make excuses for them... In fact, I don't know if I'd use them if I had to order on-line.
So I order and pay with credit card online. Because I'm not in the US it says that they'll email and quote the postage. Today I get an email from them saying that they can't sell overseas by credit card and could I print an order form, fill it out and send it and a money order in US dollars. Oh and before I do that to email them and ask for a quote on postage. WTF! They already HAVE my order; why can't they accept a credit card; and if we really need to go through this ridiculous snail mail process, why couldn't they have quoted the postage in the email in the first place?
They call themselves 'WORLD cycling productions...' pathetic.

Where are they?? I work downtown and they're listed in the book as being at 8th and Hennepin. The phone number listed doesn't work either.

Never mind. I see they're in St. Paul.

That's the old location. They're on University in St Paul just east of 280 right next door to a McDonalds.
They were just down the street from a watering hole called Jimmy's that had the best selection of imported beers on tap. It was one of the only places I've been where you could get Spaten Optimator on tap. Sorry to say, Jimmy's is no more :(
WCP is the best bet for the video you're looking for.
I like that WCP is in the TC but everytime I go in there I end up paying WAAAAAAAYYYYYY more than I should for stuff. Their videos are the best deal. I actually was in there today to buy one of those "Brooklyn" wool jerseys and it was $80 (normally $120!). Maybe that's normal, but I just couldn't afford it.
And they send out too many catalogs--almost worse than perf and nash
I've always gotten good service from WCP. I'm halfway to spending 5 figures with them and all I've seen is them getting better and trying harder. They have my vote.

WCP is coming out with a DVD remaster of the 98 Tour and the 98 Giro this May.
Finally got the remastered 98 Tour DVD! And I must praise the service of WCP. After one stuff up and a bit of hassle, I ended up with two DVDs for the price of one - a good resolution all round:-) Both DVDs are excellent (actually, the 98 one is a double with a bonus disc, so I ended up with 4 for the price of one). So when you're suffering end of Tour blues later this month, you know what to do!
cheers,
Ants
