Okay, here is the deal. I do not like the big annoying stickers on my Alez 330 rims that came on my specialized allez. I guess I am old school and want clean rims without having to watch them go roundy roundy.

Anyway, anybody have any experience taking them off. They seem pretty thick, but I was able to peal up a corner..then I got scared and came here.

Thanks,

ehenz

Heat the decal using a hair dryer and it'll peel clean and easy. That's how I removed them ugly bold letters off my Spinergies.

Thanks, worked like a charm. Said stickers weighed 11 grams (Not that I'm in to that, but I had a scale nearby and wondered how much I would save if I were)

Now the painted "SPECIALIZED" on the tire is bothering me....it must be winter, dammit!

acetone

Thanks, your name rings true!

Acetone was a no-go, but I did not use much or rub hard. I'm worried it will eat the rubber. What do you think?

Thanks again,

ehenz

I think I would be afraid it would eat the rubber.

Use brake cleaner, you can get it from the auto parts store, It removes all sorts of stuff, Just spray a little on some cloth, and then rub. While I wouldnt soak your tires in it, a little bit isnt going to hurt them.

Black Sharpie. That is what the pro mechs. use to cover tire labels when a rider uses a non sponser brand.

Brake clean LOVES rubber and paint, makes them both warp and run. At least that has been my experience. I like the black sharpie too.

Don´t you just hate all the damn decals that tell everybody what you´ve got ? Why do Mavic wheels have three sets when their rims have only one ?
