Silicon spray lub. Is it alright for chain and other moving parts?

It wouldn't be bad. I've never used it. You should try it and tell us how well it works.

The chaining seemed smooth and silent. After a short ride all looked clean and fresh. I'll continue to test it. I have put a couple of drops of chain oil on the chain and it might have not been necessary. That is the reason for my question.

Good enough. I think silicone lubes are preferred where normal petroleum oils will attack parts to be lubricated, such as some kinds of plastics and rubbers, or where flammability is an issue. Thing is, bicycles really don't set a very high bar for lube demands. Lubrication, any kind of lubrication, is usually good enough.

I personally don't like any kind of spray lube as it is hard to control the overspray. Of course it can make your brakes work smoother.

Silicon cannot replace grease if that's what yer asking. OK as an additive. Don't get it on the seat else u will slide off. :D

This stuff advises to spray on liberally, and I do use the thin red applicator tube, then wait a bit, then wipe off. It seems to leave a dry slippery finish. No dirt has been seen after ridding so far. Since I'm still recovering from a broken pelvis it will be a little while before I can continue the testing.
