Mountain Biking - Heckler, any of you ride one?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I found a fair deal on an '03 Heckler and need a ride report. It's like a scaled down Bullit, about what I need right now for a trail bike. I know when they first came out with them it was a great bike but it's a completely different design now. Would be good for the limited travel DH class I think. TIA.

Limited travel dh....hmmmm...I think this fits that category well.
One of the local race series is trying to gather interest in the DH part so they are going to have a "limited travel" class to try and get the XC people more involved. Until I can afford to go with a full-on DH bike I think this would be cool. Only problem is last time I checked they were thinking of limiting it to 4", which would rule out almost all trail bikes. If they go 5 or 6" I think it would get lots more participation since even some race XC bikes are over 4". We'll see but it sounds like a good idea to me. Not too many years ago 5" was pure DH...

Look into an officially sanctioned race called super D...very xc dh. In this race a limited travel bike would be a huge advantage.
I just finished the 24hrs in the Old Pueblo on my Heckler. Great trail bike. But, it rocks on the rough stuff. I can take 6' drops w/no problem. I would recommend this rig to everyone!

in the few drop in season 2 episodes i've seen, i've seen tyler klassen doing some insane stuff on his heckler... that bike looks like a really sick trail bike that can take some burly stuff.

Super T is smooth like whipped butter. That man wouldn't break a bike if it was fragile anyways :D...
I can't wait to get that series. I have it on order. Wohooooo
