I was wondering if any of you have tryed or are currently using the new fizik Arione saddle. I was interested in it and wanted to get some advise first. I am currently useing an aspide Arrow head saddle. I like it but after 2 and a half hours on the bike you just cant stop moving around on it. I have no numbness from it but it just not a good saddle for distance riding. Thanks for your information.

I had the Era Lux and just switched to the Sella Italia SLK! I love it!!! It flexes with you more than other sadles do and it is LIGHT as a feather too!!!

I bought an Arione back in January. My longest ride with it was 60mi and so far I love this seat. The extra long/weird shape gives you a lot of different positions to sit on and made it much easier for me to ride in the drops. It absorbs a lot of vibrations especially considering it looks like it has zero padding (I guess those rails really work). The majority of the saddle is smooth so your legs don't get all hung up on it. There's a narrow strip of suede leather that provides some grip. At first it felt weird, but a couple days later I didn't even notice.

The cons are: The crazy shape is a little to flashy for me and I will never tell my non-bike geeks how much it cost. good luck

Oh my previous seat was the stock seat on my cannondale which was great until mile 90 on a century (sooo close!)

Oh Man, that's half the fun - the non-cyclist people I work with just about **** a brick when they heard what my Thomson Masterpiece seatpost cost. In the music biz, they call it GAS or "Gear Aquisition Syndrome" and cycling raises it to a high art form. :)

The first time they found out how much the bike cost they said "So what size engine is in that". Now that's the going joke.

I love this saddle, it is perfect. By far the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden

I'v had my Airone for a couple of months. Missed 3 weeks while I was in New Orleans at Marti Gra (some one has to do it) but, have over 500 miles on it so far. So far so good, longest ride is about 2:30 hours. Moved from a Terry Fly Gel and noticed the no cut out at first but not anymore. The gel had a tendency to get uncomfortable after a time. The flatness (if that's a word) and length of the Airone allows more positons than other saddles I have tried. Hope you like it!

general concensus is that Fi'zi:k saddle are very comfortable and the rione has only received rave reviews.

I have the Fi'zi:k Aliante on both my MTB and Road bikes and i find it superb! most comfortable saddle I've ever tried. It's replaced a SI SLK gle flow on my road bike and San Marco Era Pro on my mtb.

Can anyone tell how the saddle actually breaks in? I still do not quite understand the technology behind the Wingflex... I really like the looks of it though and have only heard good comments about it. Is riding at the tip of the saddle comfortable too? I have never rode on the tip of my saddle, but might if I get the new saddle. It sounds so good I just want to get it once I have the money to do so.

Wingflex provides an articulation in the area where your thighs would chaffe against when you crank arm is at bottom dead centre. This reduces the chaffing, makingthe saddle more comfortable.........in theory. Reviews seem to be bare this out.

The Aliante has a similar concept with it's flexible carbon shell. The Arione i just taking this to a logical development at a lower cost.

I've had my Arione for two months. It's the best saddle I've ever used. VERY comfortable, and the wing flex actually works. You can get more positions from the saddle because of the size, mostly towards the back. As far as break in, the saddle is ready to go out of the box. My guess is, like most Fizik products, it's built to last.

Hi Tim, how does the Arione compare to the SI SLK gel flow? The SLK has the cutout to the rear right?
I have been looking at the Arione for the last couple of months, but my SLK isn't that old so I was curious if it would be a lot more comfortable....Tim
