Utility Cycling - using crutches to make utility bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was riding down in Trenton, NJ last weekend and saw a bike that had two crutches bolted so that an extracycle-size bed was created. The guy was riding down a sidestreet, so I only so him for a second. Anyone seen this, or even done it yourself? I don't have the cash to buy a utility bike, but could use the feature - -any ideas on making it work?

People do all sort of nutty thing sometimes getting away with it for a little while. This idea is

I remember seeing a thread here somewhere of a guy who made a huge rear and front bed by bolting long metal tubes parallel to his bike's top tube.

I'm currently working on a bike trailer from an old baby stroller jogger and some crutches.

Did you complete that project? Ive just scored an old Baby Jogger which is perfect for a trailer but I hadnt thought of crutches, which I have as well. Im just hauling groceries so it doesn't have to be too engineered.
Love to see pics of baby stroller to non baby trailers!
