I just had an awesome set of DT swiss 1.1 rims put on a set of DT 190 ceramic hubs. Wheelsmith spokes. Came out great(light and true 750g front 32 spoke)
I went to put my Red cassette on and find that the SRAM cassettes are not compatable with the new hub design, turns out that DT makes the splines deeper to prevent problems with cutting into the cassette. Now DT hubs are only compatible with Shimano and campy.
So? do I get a Dura Ace cassette with my SRAM drive train or get some different wheels(what?)
LBS will return wheels if needed.

Sounds like you answered your own question. If you like the wheels, you'll probably need to get a compatible cassette. You could probably switch out the freehub body, but in the long run it would be cheaper to return the SRAM and get an Ultegra or DA cassette.

I'm just concerned about the DA cassette with the rest SRAM. I figure SRAM put a ton of time/money into the design. I don't mind buying the new cassette and trying it, but if it shifts poorly i am stuck with the $1100 wheels.

Most of my experience with SRAM is that they spend all that R&D time trying to make Shimano-compatible products at a lower retail price. I don't have hands-on experience with their new road group, but I can't help but think that it would be perfectly compatible with Shimano and vice versa.

DT240's do fit on a Sram Red cassette, However at the moment the 190 cassette body does not. So your only option at the minute is to use a Dura Ace cassette. I've been told that DT will be bringing out a compatible body shortly (but when exactly I don't know).
Don't be concerned with using a DA cassette, nearly everybody I know who runs Red uses a DA cassette and it runs quieter than the Red.
