Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In a recent thread, I found a link to a site which mentioned the Novara Transfer rack (http://www.nordicgroup.us/rearracks/#REI_736-733-0011_). I called the Pittsburgh REI and was told that the rack was not in stock in the store or in the warehouse. I was connected with John and he said that he would try to locate the rack in another store.

I got a call back from John (a voice mail) and he said that the he located the rack, it would take a few days but the rack would be free as part of a customer satisfaction program. I thought I had heard the message wrong. Monday, I got another voice mail from John. The rack was in and once again it would be free of charge. OK I could no have heard wrong twice but seeing is believing.

So I headed over to REI today, sure enough the rack was free! I was very happy for John to locate the rack for me, but to provide it free of charge was unbelievable! So a big thumbs up :thumb: to John and to REI! This sounds like a company that really wants my business. And they got it, I purchased a pair of Pearl Izumi Attack shorts and I just might stop by this weekend and buy another pair while they are still on sale.

Not a complaint just merely for the benefit of others, the workmanship on the rack is poor but just as long as it holds up, that is fine by me. Hey it was free (for me)! :) But even if you need to pay the $25 or so, it is probably still worth the price (assuming the rack holds up). I am going to give it a test run on a tour of the PCH. I'll try to remember to post a review.

Sweet congrats. I've pretty much only had positive experiences at REI.
