So last night I put the final touches on the new full suspension mountain bike. Had a few shots of nice single malt while working on the bike. Probably three of them in total by the end of the night. Now I just finished putting the new frame together with all the parts. Can't just leave it there on the stand all ready to go. It's dark but there's streetlights so WTH. Out we go...

Played around on the side walk getting a feel for wheelieing the front and hopped the curb a couple of times. Rolled up to the front yard and around the little tree. Did a sharp reversal to a right turn but the Scotch made me turn a little TOO far. No problem, I can save it, just pedal hard and turn in... pedal hardER and turn in... PEDAL HARDER AND TURN IN ! ! ! !...... Nope... down I went fighting for control to the last second. At least it was in the grass. Worst of all I didn't let go of the bars so when I rolled I dragged the bike over me....

No harm done other than to my fragile ego. Got up with a couple of skin scuffs and hurt my belly from laughing at myself. I'd probably have hurt more at the time but Robbie Burn's Golden Nectar kept me from harm.....

So don't drink then ride kiddies.... Or at least stick to the grass..... :D

I'll post a pic of the new ride later but tonight it's raining cats and dogs and the shop is too muddled a backdrop. You'd be lucky to see the bike among all the background clutter....

As Dean Martin said, "Don't drink and drive. Don't even putt."

Define nice single malt, and then let me decide whether I want to drink and then ride or not.

I put a water bottle holder on upside down yesterday, and I was sober.

12 yr Dalmore in this case. I was out of my other regular which is 10 yr Macallan Speyside. I save the 15 yr stuff for the more refined road bikes that better appreciate the finer nuances..... :D

Don't feel bad BC...you HAD to ride, you were too drunk to walk.

EXACTLY! I'm sure your avatar agrees with that too... :D

So we either don't ever let you drink and use tools or maybe you need a couple to get it right?

Oh The Dalmore, aged in used Sherry Casks. That's a nice one, there's a nearly empty bottle sitting in my cabinet as we speak. I think I will drink, and then ride, and then drink again if we're talking Dalmore.
