Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Just finished my first HnH ride with Texas Bubba and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Only one problem , I spent so much money I have to take September off. With that in mind anyone have any ride recommendations for October?

Which part of TX are you in?
I may check into the one in Springtown. Read the different ride reviews over at www.bicycle-stuff.com (http://www.bicycle-stuff.com), otherwise. Also, I think there's a vintage bike ride coming up in October, small-scale ride, though.

The Piney Woods Purgatory in Lufkin on October 4th is an incredible ride. If you want a challenge the opt for the 100 miler. There's no flats, only solid hills and the scenerie is beautiful.

I've done it twice and rate it an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I'm signed up for the Bike Around the Bay, Oct. 18-19. It got reviewed very well last year, so I'm giving it a shot.

The Valero MS 150 Bike to the Beach from San Antonio to Corpus Christi will take place on the 4th and 5th. This is reportedly the last year the ride will go to Corpus, to be replaced by an out and back ride starting in San Antonio next year. This year's ride also features a trip over the Harbor Bridge in Corpus right at the end of the ride, which should be a challenge after riding 160 miles in 2 days.

I'm going to recommend the Springtown Spin. I haven't done that specific ride, but I have ridden most of the roads on it, and they are all nice roads with rolling hills. Just be prepared for chip seal.

I'm in the DFW area, so I think the rides down around Houston are a little too far for my taste. Right now I'm considering the Piney Woods Purgatory and the Paluxy Pedal.

Wurst Ride. Starts in Austin ends at Wurstfest in New Braunfels. Beer and brats at the end. How can you go wrong with this?

The "Conquer the Coast" on Sept. 27 sounds interesting, too.
Definitely LiveStrong Challenge. Great weekend in Austin on top of a great ride in the hill country. And all for a great cause too. Can't beat it.
