Hello everyone,

I just sold my Volvo, and am looking to spend no more than $800 on a reliable bike that I could do a 22-24 mi. commute R/T within Miami and am wondering what kind of bike would be best to purchase... so far these two craigslist postings seem decent:

http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/bik/812925500.html

http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/bik/804978553.html

(a little shameless I know):p

Or what about those folding bikes...? Was looking to purchase a new one, but read some reviews that called them very slow, and ineffectual for commutes... Would purchasing a more expensive one be a better option?

Thanks in advance,
Tim (the noob)

I would highly recomend that you go to a LBS and get fitted before browsing the used bikes online. With a road bike, the fit can make the difference in the comfort of the Volvo verses a pain in the butt (especially at 22 miles). You may be able to find a new bike with low end components for around $800.

For $800 you can get a new bike like something in the Jamis Coda (http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebikes/street/index.html) line. Awesome bikes. We sell a lot of them at our shop to commuters.
